A Quality Line Inspector in auto components manufacturing (CNC and VMC machining) is responsible for inspecting machined automotive parts during production to ensure they meet required quality standards, tolerances, and engineering specifications. The inspector checks components produced on CNC and VMC machines such as shafts, housings, brackets, and other automotive parts using measuring instruments like vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and dial indicators. They compare measurements with technical drawings and control plans to identify defects such as dimensional variation, surface defects, burrs, or machining errors.
The inspector records inspection results, segregates non-conforming parts, and reports issues to machine operators and the quality team for corrective action. This role helps maintain consistent product quality, ensures compliance with automotive industry standards, and prevents defective components from moving to the next stage of production or reaching customers.
