Role & responsibilities

- Manage import purchase operations, including sourcing, procurement, and logistics.

- Coordinate with suppliers to negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and quality standards.

- Ensure timely clearance of goods through customs and obtain necessary documentation (e.g., commercial invoices, bills of lading).

- Oversee shipment tracking from origin to destination and resolve any issues that may arise during transit.

- Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory levels, and vendor relationships.

Preferred candidate profile

- 2-6 years of experience in import purchase or related field (import documentation, exim trade).

- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) or Chartered Accountancy (B.C.A.) from a recognized university.

- Robust knowledge of import regulations, laws, and procedures; familiarity with international trade agreements (e.g., GATT/WTO).

- Proficiency in preparing various types of documents required for imports (e.g., commercial invoices, bills of lading).
