Production Manager PET/Plastic Packaging Manufacturing

1. Job Overview:

This role oversees injection moulding, device, and CRC assembly operations while ensuring effective daily plant performance. It involves resource planning, waste reduction, and achieving target efficiencies through continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires strong cross-functional coordination, production planning, and adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards (cGMP, ISO, IMS).

Key responsibilities include process optimization, troubleshooting, CAPA management, and minimizing scrap and on-hold materials. The role also focuses on team training, workforce management, and maintaining accurate production records. Overall, it ensures safe, high-quality, and cost-effective manufacturing aligned with customer requirements and organizational KPIs

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCONTABILITIES:

Primary Responsibility

1. Injection Moulding operations
2. Device Assembly operations.
3. CRC Assembly operations.

Extended Responsibility a. Daily Plant operations monitoring and control b. Extend responsibility to other areas of operation wen ever necessary. c. Plan and execute efficient usage of resources (man/machine/ utilities materials etc)

d. Work on continuous improvement projects.

e. Ensure target efficiencies and reduce waste.

f. Inter departmental Coordination g. Assume responsibility during absence of team members.

Other additional responsibilities such as and when arise based on business requirements.

i. Address and achieve deliverables.

Team development

Provide adequate training on production processes to all the team members to achieve the business objectives.

Support engineering teams to trouble shooting of complex molding projects and systems.

Ensure that process is designed appropriately to ensure quality (scraps), cost (cycle time OEE) and reliability of production (OTIF to customer).

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end production operations of PET preforms, bottles, and injection moulding.
- Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
- Lead production teams and manage manpower across shifts.
- Ensure production targets, OEE, productivity, and machine utilization are achieved.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Tool Room, Planning, and Supply Chain teams.
- Reduce scrap, rejection, and downtime through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement CAPA.
- Monitor injection moulding and stretch blow moulding processes.
- Conduct new mould, raw material, and process trials.
- Maintain ISO documentation, ERP records, and production reports.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Poka-Yoke, and 7 QC Tools.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and production standards.
- Train and develop operators and supervisors.
