Job Summary:
The Procurement Head will be responsible for overseeing the entire Supply Chain Management (SCM) operations for the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS). This leadership role demands a seasoned qualified with extensive experience in managing end-to-end supply chain processes, including procurement, logistics, production planning, inventory management, and demand forecasting in the EMS industry. The SCM Operations Head will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to streamline supply chain functions, reduce costs, and improve overall operational efficiency while maintaining high service levels and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead and manage the SCM team, ensuring alignment with the companys overall strategic objectives and operational goals.
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies to improve operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and process optimizations across supply chain operations.
End-to-End Supply Chain Management:
- Oversee the procurement, logistics, production planning, inventory management, and distribution functions for EMS operations.
- Ensure seamless coordination between suppliers, internal teams, and customers to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
- Develop and manage a robust forecasting and demand planning system to optimize inventory levels and reduce lead times.
Vendor & Supplier Management:
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers, contract manufacturers, and logistics partners.
- Negotiate terms, pricing,
and contracts with suppliers to ensure cost control and timely availability of materials.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality standards, delivery reliability, and adherence to agreed-upon KPIs.
Inventory & Production Planning:
- Ensure effective management of inventory levels and reduce excess stock to optimize working capital.
- Collaborate with production planning teams to ensure the alignment of supply with demand and production schedules.
- Implement and monitor efficient systems for stock replenishment, material tracking, and inventory control.
Risk Management & Compliance:
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks including disruptions, supplier failures, and market fluctuations.
- Ensure all SCM activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead supply chain audits, both internal and external, to ensure compliance with quality standards and operational best practices.
- Team Management & Development:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Develop and manage team performance metrics, setting clear goals and expectations.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance the teams skills and knowledge in SCM best practices.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Work closely with the customer service and sales teams to understand customer requirements and ensure alignment with supply chain activities.
- Drive the resolution of customer complaints and service issues related to logistics, delivery, or inventory.
- Support customer-facing initiatives by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products to customers.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the supply chain budget, ensuring cost containment and maximizing efficiency across all supply chain functions.
- Analyze and report on supply chain costs, inefficiencies, and opportunities for savings or optimization.
- Monitor and drive KPIs related to cost reduction, on-time delivery, and supplier performance.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A Masters degree (MBA) or relevant certifications (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma) is highly desirable.
- Experience: 20-25 years of experience in supply chain management within the electronics manufacturing or EMS industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes, supply chain operations, logistics, procurement, and inventory management.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proven experience with supply chain planning software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Expertise in demand planning, production scheduling, and logistics management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams.
- Knowledge of global supply chain trends and the impact of external factors on operations (e.g., geopolitical, economic)
