We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for manufacturing engineering, process planning, and costing for high-precision medical industry components.

Job Overview

As SME you will work on transforming complex technical drawings into validated manufacturing processes. You will own process flows, cycle time estimation, and total costing within SAP, ensuring strict compliance with medical manufacturing standards. You will be instrumental in providing costing for RFQs and design transfer to manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

Process Engineering & Routing

- Analyze complex 2D drawings and 3D models in SolidWorks and CREO.
- Design step-by-step process flows compliant with medical device standards.
- Determine optimal machine selection for laser cutting, punching, and bending.
- Establish accurate cycle times for production steps to optimize capacity.
- Identify required tooling, custom fixtures, and specialized hardware.

Costing & SAP Integration

- Build accurate BOMs and production routings directly within SAP.
- Calculate total manufacturing costs for new product introductions (NPI).
- Estimate raw material utilization and nesting scrap rates accurately.




- Factor in outside processing like medical-grade plating, passivating, or painting.
- Provide data-driven technical inputs to support the commercial quoting team.

Quality & Technical Leadership

- Serve as the internal SME for sheet metal fabrication and welding.
- Execute Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews to lower production costs.
- Ensure all process routings support cleanroom and medical quality compliance.
- Troubleshoot shop-floor technical issues to maintain strict delivery schedules.

Qualifications & Skills

- 8+ years of experience in precision sheet metal manufacturing.
- Deep expertise in sheet metal fabrication processes and costing.
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and CREO or any other CAD platforms.
- Hands-on experience using SAP ERP for routing and BOM creation.
- Strong command of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
