Dear candidate,

We are seeking an experienced OpenStack Engineer with deep expertise in OpenStack deployment, administration, and lifecycle management . The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying, upgrading, troubleshooting, and maintaining large-scale OpenStack environments that support mission-critical infrastructure workloads.

This is a hands-on technical role focused on OpenStack operations, automation, performance optimisation, and platform reliability. The candidate should possess solid Linux, virtualisation, networking, and storage expertise, along with proven experience in production OpenStack environments.

Key Responsibilities

1. OpenStack Deployment & Administration

- Deploy and manage OpenStack environments using TripleO.
- Perform OpenStack installation, configuration, upgrades, and patch management.
- Administer core OpenStack services, including Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Keystone, Glance, Heat. Octavia etc.,
- Perform health checks, troubleshooting, and operational maintenance of OpenStack clusters.
- Support cloud infrastructure expansion, node onboarding, and lifecycle management activities.

1. Triple Operations

- Design, maintain, and optimise Triple O deployment templates.
- Execute control plane and data plane upgrades.
- Manage Triple O deployment workflows, validations, and troubleshooting.
- Support undercloud and overcloud deployment activities
- Maintain deployment automation and configuration consistency across environments.

1. Linux, Virtualisation & Infrastructure

- Manage and troubleshoot Linux-based infrastructure supporting OpenStack. Support KVM virtualization environments.
- Configure and troubleshoot networking components, including VLANs, VXLANs Bonding, Routing and Load Balancing




- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to resolve compute, storage, and networking issues.

1. Storage & Performance

- Administer and troubleshoot Ceph storage integrated with OpenStack.
- Perform capacity planning and performance tuning.
- Investigate and resolve performance bottlenecks across compute, networking, and storage layers.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for complex platform incidents.

1. Automation & Operations

- Develop and maintain automation using Ansible, Python and Shell scripting.
- Automate deployment, validation, monitoring, and operational tasks.
- Improve operational efficiency through standardisation and repeatable automation.

Required Qualifications

Educational Qualification

BS/MS in CS/EE or equivalent

Experience

- 7+ years of Linux and infrastructure engineering experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on OpenStack administration experience.
- Strong production experience with TripleO-based OpenStack deployments.
- Experience performing OpenStack upgrades and migration activities.
- Proven troubleshooting experience in large-scale OpenStack environments.

Technical Skills
- Expert knowledge of:
- OpenStack (Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Keystone, Glance, Heat)
- TripleO Deployment Framework
- Red Hat OpenStack Platform (RHOSP)
- Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux)
- KVM Virtualization
- NetApp Storage

Preferred Certification
- RHCSA or RHCE certification.
- Red Hat OpenStack Certification.

Contract Deliverables
