Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership &
- Field Operations Management: Lead, supervise and mentor a distributed team of Technicians/Field Engineers across ILA/ROADM sites; plan manpower deployment, shift rosters, and 24x7 on-call/emergency coverage; drive performance reviews, skill development and succession planning.
- Power Systems Governance: Own the operational health of SMPS/Power Plant systems and AC &
- DC distribution panels across the region; set standards for load management, redundancy planning, and alarm/voltage monitoring; drive root-cause analysis for recurring power issues.
- Battery Bank Strategy: Oversee Lithium-ion battery bank health, backup testing and replacement planning across all sites; ensure SLA-defined backup (4 hrs) is consistently met; drive battery lifecycle and capacity-upgrade planning with OEMs.
- DG &
- AMF Fleet Management: Ensure reliable operation of the regional DG fleet and AMF panels, including auto-start performance, load testing cadence, and preventive servicing; review DG run-hour, fuel-consumption and maintenance logs for anomalies; approve major repair and replacement decisions.
- Diesel &
- Fuel Governance: Own fuel budgeting, consumption benchmarking and pilferage-control measures across sites; audit fuel logs and vendor billing; implement digital fuel-monitoring where applicable.
- Preventive &
- Corrective Maintenance Strategy: Define and continuously improve the regional PM/CM framework, checklists and schedules for power plants, DG sets, battery banks and electrical panels; monitor CM response and SLA-restoration timelines; drive breakdown trend analysis to reduce repeat failures.
- Vendor &
- OEM Management: Manage OEM and third-party vendor relationships for equipment maintenance,
AMC renewals and spares availability; evaluate vendor performance against SLAs; negotiate commercial terms in coordination with procurement.
- Budget &
- Cost Control: Own the regional O&M; budget covering diesel, spares, AMC and manpower costs; identify cost-optimization opportunities without compromising uptime or safety; report budget variance to leadership.
- Site Infrastructure &
- HSE Compliance: Ensure shelters, earthing, cabling, lighting, ventilation and site hygiene meet standards across the region; enforce electrical safety and HSE protocols; lead incident investigations and corrective action closure.
- Escalation Management &
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary escalation point for critical outages; coordinate closely with NOC, OEMs and cross-functional teams during major incidents; represent the region in internal reviews and customer/stakeholder discussions.
- Documentation, Reporting &
- MIS: Own regional MIS covering site uptime, SLA compliance, fault resolution, battery/DG performance and diesel consumption; present periodic performance reviews to senior leadership; ensure audit-readiness of all PM/CM/compliance records.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives for automation/remote monitoring adoption, energy efficiency,
and process standardization across sites; benchmark regional performance against best-in-class O&M; practices.
