Maintenance Operative – Catering & Refrigeration Equipment

We’re looking for a practical, hands-on Maintenance Operative to join our team at CaterHire’s Dublin HQ. This day-based role involves the maintenance and preparation of catering and refrigeration equipment, alongside general maintenance duties across our premises.

☀️ Hours: Day-Based Role The Role

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is practical, technically minded and enjoys working in a hands-on environment.

You’ll work closely with our operations and warehouse teams to ensure our catering and refrigeration equipment is maintained, prepared and ready for use.

Full training will be provided, with a clear opportunity to develop your technical skills and progress towards a Catering Service Engineer role over time.

Key Duties

- Carry out basic repairs and maintenance on catering and refrigeration equipment.
- Inspect, check and prepare equipment before it is issued for hire.
- Complete general maintenance duties within our Dublin HQ.
- Work closely with our operations and warehouse teams to keep equipment in safe and good working order.




- Identify technical issues and escalate more complex repairs to external catering engineers when required.
- Help maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment.

What We’re Looking For We’d particularly like to hear from candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Hospitality, commercial kitchens or back-of-house environments.
- Maintenance, facilities or warehouse roles.
- Basic electrical, plumbing or carpentry skills.
- Experience working with catering or refrigeration equipment would be an advantage, but is not essential.
- A practical, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills.
- Proactive, dependable and comfortable working in a busy environment.
- Able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be based in Ireland and eligible to work full time.
