To ensure the quality and accuracy of machined components by conducting first piece approvals, in-process inspections, and final checduring day and night shifts.
The Line
Inspector plays a critical role in maintaining product standards, preventing defects, and supportinsmooth machining operations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform 1st piece inspection and approval for all machined components before mass production begins.
- Conduct in-process inspection as per control plan, drawing, and customer requirements.
- Verify dimensions using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, etc.Ensure adherence to machining parameters and quality standards.
- Identify non-conformities,
document deviations, and coordinate with Machine Shop, QA, and Production teams for corrective actionMaintain inspection records, reports, and 1st piece approval documentation.
- Support quality audits, internal checks, and compliance with ISO / IATF requirements.
- Monitor component quality during day and night shifts, ensuring continuous quality control.
- Ensure proper handling, calibration, and upkeep of measuring instruments.
- Escalate quality issues promptly to supervisors to avoid delays or rework.
