Company Stage: Pre-Series A | Preparing for Series A in the next 8–10 months

Flood is building for scale and preparing for its next phase of growth. As we move toward a Series A round in the next 8–10 months, we are looking for a senior finance leader who can build a strong, scalable finance function while acting as a strategic business partner to the CEO and leadership team.

This is not a traditional Controller role . We are looking for a business-focused finance leader with strong startup experience, investor-facing capabilities, and a clear path to becoming Flood's long-term CFO.

The Opportunity

As Head of Finance, you will take ownership of the company's financial strategy, financial operations, fundraising readiness, investor reporting, governance, and capital efficiency.

You will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to translate business goals into financial decisions and help position Flood for its Series A and future growth.

A key part of the role will be working with investors and communicating Flood's financial story with confidence . You should be comfortable presenting financial models, business metrics, forecasts, capital requirements, and growth plans to institutional investors and answering detailed questions around the numbers.

Key Responsibilities

- Strategic Finance & Business Partnership
- Own financial strategy in alignment with Flood's growth objectives
- Build and maintain forward-looking financial models covering revenue, costs, burn, runway, and different business scenarios
- Translate business strategy into capital allocation decisions
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team on unit economics, margins, and business performance
- Build financial dashboards and provide transparent visibility into business performance
- Drive disciplined and efficient deployment of capital




- Identify financial risks and opportunities and proactively advise leadership
- Fundraising & Investor Relations
- Lead financial readiness for the upcoming Series A
- Work closely with the CEO during fundraising and investor discussions
- Build and manage the financial component of the investor data room
- Develop fundraising models, forecasts, scenarios, and supporting materials
- Support valuation discussions and term-sheet modelling
- Communicate Flood's financial story, metrics, growth assumptions, and capital requirements to investors
- Confidently present financial information and respond to investor questions
- Own cap table management and support ESOP structuring
- Prepare shareholder communications and board-level financial reporting
- Multi-Country Finance & Governance
- Build scalable financial structures across countries and entities
- Manage cross-border financial considerations and foreign exchange exposure
- Oversee legal entities, governance, and statutory financial records
- Ensure appropriate accounting and reporting alignment across international operations
- Establish processes and controls that are audit-ready and investor-ready
- Finance Operations & Team Building
- Oversee accounting, payroll, tax, compliance, treasury, and cash management
- Build strong internal controls and scalable finance processes
- Manage cash flow and working capital
- Ensure accurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting
- Build, mentor, and lead the finance team as the company scales
- Establish finance processes appropriate for a high-growth startup environment

Experience What We're Looking For

- 5–15 years of progressive finance experience
- Experience working in a VC-backed or high-growth startup environment




- Experience supporting or participating in fundraising rounds
- Demonstrated experience interacting with VCs, institutional investors, or shareholders
- Experience building financial models and supporting strategic business decisions
- Experience working across multiple entities or countries is preferred
- CA / CPA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification preferred

- Can work closely with founders and CXOs
- Is comfortable moving between strategy and hands-on execution

- Build an institutional-grade finance function
- Establish clear financial visibility across the business
- Improve capital efficiency and runway discipline
- Build fundraising-ready financial models and reporting
- Prepare the company for its Series A
- Establish scalable governance and cross-border finance structures
- Build and develop the finance team
- Become a trusted strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team
