About the Role We are seeking a visionary Head of Data Science to lead our artificial intelligence and machine learning initiatives. Based in our Bangalore office, this executive role will be responsible for defining the strategic direction of our core data science functions, with a heavy focus on advanced machine learning architectures and deep neural networks.

You will lead a high-performing team of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and researchers to build predictive models, optimize existing algorithms, and deploy scalable AI solutions that drive direct, measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities

- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the long-term roadmap for data science and AI initiatives, aligning advanced research with overarching corporate objectives.

- Team Management & Scaling: Hire, mentor, and lead a specialized team of senior data scientists and ML engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, rigorous testing, and engineering excellence.

- Advanced Modeling: Oversee the design, development, and deployment of complex machine learning models, specifically utilizing deep learning and neural network architectures (CNNs, RNNs, Transformers).

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with the C-suite, Product Management, and Engineering leaders to translate complex business problems into actionable data science pipelines.

- Infrastructure & MLOps: Champion the adoption of MLOps best practices to ensure that models are highly scalable, reliable, and continuously monitored in production environments without latency degradation.





- Innovation & R&D;: Stay at the forefront of AI research, exploring new methodologies in Generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and reinforcement learning to maintain a competitive technical edge in the market.

Required Qualifications

- Experience: 10 to 15+ years of overall experience in data science, with at least 4+ years in a senior leadership (Head/Director) capacity managing large, high-performing technical teams.

- Educational Background: Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a related highly quantitative field from a premier institute.

- Technical Expertise: Deep architectural understanding of machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras) and practical applications of neural networks in domains such as Computer Vision, NLP, or predictive analytics.

- Programming & Data Architecture: Expert-level proficiency in Python, SQL, and distributed computing frameworks (Apache Spark, Ray).

- Production Deployment: Proven track record of taking complex neural network models from the research and Proof-of-Concept (PoC) phases to high-scale production environments.

- Executive Communication: Exceptional ability to distill complex, highly technical AI concepts into clear, actionable business strategies for non-technical stakeholders and board members.

Preferred Qualifications

- Significant experience managing cloud-native AI infrastructure (AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI, or Azure Machine Learning).

- Prior experience managing a dedicated R&D; budget, effectively balancing short-term product deliverables with long-term foundational AI research.

- Published papers in recognized AI/ML journals or active contributions to open-source machine learning projects.
