Payroll Expert- SME Europe

Role Purpose- Provide subject matter expertise and operational leadership for end-to-end payroll and compliance across Europe (Germany, Sweden, France, Netherlands, Poland & UK), ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing. Act as the primary escalation point for complex payroll, statutory, tax, audit, and compliance matters, while partnering with payroll vendors (ADP/Celergo), HR, Finance, and country stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities-

Payroll Operations & Governance- Own end-to-end payroll governance for assigned European countries. Act as SME and escalation point for complex payroll issues. Review and validate payroll inputs, outputs, reconciliations, and payroll sign-off.

Manage off-cycle payments, retro payroll, severance, bonuses, expatriate payroll, and year-end activities. Drive payroll accuracy, compliance, and process standardization across countries. Manage payroll vendor performance (ADP/Celergo) and SLA adherence.





Compliance Expertise- Ensure payroll compliance. Monitor legislative changes and implement payroll impacts. Support internal, statutory, SOX, and payroll audits. Maintain payroll controls, documentation, maker-checker controls, and audit readiness. Ensure timely statutory filings, tax submissions, and authorities reporting.

Required Experience

- 10+ years of multi-country EUR payroll experience.
- Minimum 5+ years handling European payrolls.
- Robust exposure to Germany, Sweden, France, Netherlands, Poland, and UK payroll processes.
- Experience working with ADP GlobalView/Celergo, Success Factors platforms.
- Strong experience in payroll audits, controls, reconciliations, and statutory compliance.
- Advanced Excel and payroll analytics/reporting skills.
