- Lead the team in studying and interpreting electrical schematics and the 3D mechanical design of the product/assembly.
- Oversee the review of electrical BOM and assist team members in locating electrical components, devices, and instruments.
- Guide the identification of harness clamping locations.
- Supervise the review of cable tray design and placement within the package and ensure the identification of the best possible routing path.
- Oversee the creation and routing of 3D cabling/wiring harnesses for all electrical cables from I/O panels to respective devices and instruments.
- Define CAD structure and ensure the creation of necessary 3D installations, including cabling/wiring harnesses, cable glands, grounding clamps, tie wraps, etc., within Windchill.
- Design and review mounting arrangements (brackets/screws, etc.) for grounding and earthing clamps. Lead the creation of Top-Level Assembly (Installation Drawings).
- Oversee the redesign of cable trays as needed.
- Manage new design releases and change management approvals using PTC Windchill.
- Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams for integrated technical requirements.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members, ensuring high-quality outputs and adherence to project timelines.
- Facilitate team meetings, design reviews, and ensure effective communication among team members and stakeholders.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing feedback and implementing improvement plans as necessary.
Skills/Experience Required
- Bachelor’s in electrical engineering
- 5 to 7 years of Experience in the electrical wiring harness development.
- Recent Product Development, Genset harness knowledge, schematic wiring diagrams, Bill of materials, controls panel layouts, AutoCAD Electrical, Creo, Windchill or any PLM tools.
- Supported Skills: 3D CAD modelling using Creo tool.
