Company Description PJ Margo (P) Ltd., founded in 1992 as a joint venture between the Jaipurias and WR Grace, established the world’s first commercial-scale extraction facility for Azadirachtin, a neem-based bio-pesticide. The company has been manufacturing and supplying Azadirachtin technical and neem oil to national and international customers for over two decades.
Through its subsidiary Margo Bio Controls Pvt. Ltd., PJ Margo has expanded into organic and eco-friendly crop protection products, including microbials, bio-pesticides, and bio-stimulants. Many of its products are certified organic by IMO Switzerland and approved for organic farming under NOP, NPOP, and JAS protocols.
PJ Margo continues to grow its portfolio and distribution partnerships to deliver sustainable crop protection solutions to farmers in India and overseas.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site EHS and Safety Officer role based in Tumkur. The EHS and Safety Officer will oversee implementation of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures across manufacturing and operational areas, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, industry standards, and company guidelines.
Daily responsibilities include conducting workplace safety inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments, as well as recommending and monitoring corrective and preventive actions. The role involves developing and updating safety manuals, conducting toolbox talks and training programs, and promoting a solid safety culture among all employees and contractors.
The EHS and Safety Officer will also investigate incidents, maintain EHS documentation and reports, coordinate with regulatory bodies and certifying agencies as required, and support continuous improvement initiatives in occupational health, environmental performance, and emergency preparedness.
Qualifications
- candidate preferred from post graduate from science
- Candidates should possess robust Health & Safety and Workplace Safety skills, with practical experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Candidates should possess expertise in Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including implementation of EHS management systems and regulatory compliance.
- Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Occupational Health practices, including risk assessment, ergonomics, and exposure control.
- Candidates should possess formal safety training and certifications such as NEBOSH or equivalent recognized safety qualification.
- Relevant skills in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and development of corrective and preventive actions.
- Ability to conduct safety training, communicate clearly across levels, and influence behavior to support a strong safety culture.
- Experience in chemical, agrochemical, or manufacturing sectors is preferred; familiarity with organic or eco-friendly product operations is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in EHS, Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, or a related technical discipline.
