About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Instructional Designer to support a university client in revising and enhancing asynchronous online courses. The ideal candidate should have solid expertise in instructional alignment, course design, accessibility, and higher education learning environments.
Key Responsibilities
Review SME-provided content and ensure alignment between Course Objectives, Lesson Objectives, and Assessments
Ensure learning objectives use measurable action verbs and follow university standards
Transform content from recall-based learning to application, critical thinking, and deeper learning
Improve course readability, usability, accessibility, and learner experience
Use design components such as accordions, tabs, callouts, timelines, branching scenarios, and interactive graphs
Review assessments and recommend authentic assessment strategies,
including appropriate use of Generative AI
Manage and organize course files through SharePoint
Collaborate with SMEs, Department Chairs, and Media Teams through Teams and email
Provide weekly project status updates
Give timely and constructive feedback to faculty/SMEs regarding instructional issues, measurable objectives, copyright, and course quality
Requirements
Proven experience in Higher Education Instructional Design
Solid knowledge of Quality Matters (QM) or OSCQR
Experience with LMS environments
Proficiency in SharePoint
Solid communication and stakeholder-management skills
Ability to work professionally and diplomatically with faculty and SMEs
Selection Process
Candidates shortlisted for an interview will be required to complete a 90-minute skills assessment covering:
