Role Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Functional Consultant specializing in Supply Chain Management modules of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The role involves requirement gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, and go-live support across end-to-end SCM processes for multi-geography, multi-entity implementations.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct requirement workshops and gap-fit analysis for SCM processes procurement, inventory, warehousing, manufacturing, planning, and assembly management.

- Configure and set up SCM modules in D365 BC including Items, Item Tracking, Locations, Stockkeeping Units, BOMs, Routing, Production Orders, Purchase &
- Transfer Orders, and Requisition Worksheets.

- Design end-to-end process flows for procure-to-pay, plan-to-produce, and order-to-fulfil cycles.

- Prepare Functional Design Documents (FDDs) for customizations and integrations within SCM scope.

- Collaborate with technical consultants and developers to deliver extensions, reports, and data migration for SCM modules.

- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support UAT cycles.

- Deliver end-user and key-user training on SCM processes in D365 BC.

- Support data migration for items, BOMs, vendors, open purchase orders, and inventory opening balances.

- Provide post-go-live hypercare and production support for SCM-related issues.

- Stay current with BC release waves and evaluate new SCM features for client applicability.

Functional Expertise Required

- Inventory Management:

- Item setup, item categories, item attributes, variants, units of measure, item tracking (lot/serial), item charges, and inventory costing methods (FIFO, Average, Standard, Specific).

- Warehouse Management:

- Location setup, bins, warehouse receipts, put-aways, picks, shipments, internal movements, directed put-away and pick, and zone/bin configuration.

- Purchase Management:

- Vendor management, purchase quotes/orders/invoices/credit memos, blanket purchase orders, drop shipments, purchase returns, item charges allocation, and prepayments.

- Manufacturing:





- Production BOMs, routings, work/machine centers, production orders (planned/firm-planned/released/finished), production journals, subcontracting, and capacity planning.

- Assembly Management:

- Assembly BOMs, assemble-to-order vs assemble-to-stock, assembly orders, and BOM costing.

- Planning &
- Requisition:

- Reorder policies (fixed reorder qty, maximum qty, order, lot-for-lot), safety stock, lead time calculation, planning worksheets, and requisition worksheets.

Good to Have

- Exposure to multi-company and inter-company transaction flows in BC.

- Experience with India GST localization as it impacts purchase and inventory flows.

- Hands-on experience with BC data migration using RapidStart or configuration packages for SCM master and transactional data.

- Familiarity with Power Automate, Power BI, or Dataverse integration for SCM reporting/automation.

- Working knowledge of AL development or ability to read/debug AL code.

- Prior experience on NAV (2013/2016/2018) SCM modules and NAV-to-BC upgrade projects.

- Exposure to third-party ISV add-ons for advanced warehousing, EDI, or manufacturing.

Qualifications &

- Experience

- 2- 5 years of hands-on experience as a Functional Consultant on D365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV, with primary focus on SCM modules.

- Minimum 2 full-cycle (end-to-end) implementation projects with SCM scope.

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related discipline. MBA/PGDM in Operations is a plus.

- MB-800 (Business Central Functional Consultant) certification preferred
- MB-820 or relevant SCM certifications are a bonus.

Key Competencies

- Strong analytical and process-mapping skills with ability to translate business requirements into BC configuration.

- Transparent communication ability to run workshops with operations/warehouse/procurement teams and present to CXO stakeholders.

- Comfortable working in a partner/consulting environment with parallel project assignments.

- Self-driven with ability to work in distributed teams across time zones.

- Documentation discipline clean FDDs, test scripts, training materials.
