Assistant Manager Finance & Accounts
(Manager Track 12 to 18 Month Growth Plan)
Grow Into the Finance Leader of a Global Spice House.
We're looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Assistant Manager Finance & Accounts who is ready to step up. This is not a role we've designed to stay where it starts. We're hiring for the person, not just the post: someone strong on the fundamentals today, who we will train, stretch,
and grow into a Finance Manager over the next 12 to 18 months.
Working closely with the Directors and the Finance team, you'll own the day-to-day discipline of the books while gradually taking on reporting, controls, and team leadership. As the company expands, you'll also gain exposure to our overseas subsidiaries and cross-border finance operations.
What You'll Do (Day One)
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual book closure accurately and on time
Handle ledger scrutiny, reconciliations (bank, debtor, creditor, inter-company), and clean-up of open items
Manage statutory compliance GST, TDS, income tax, and other filings within deadlines
Prepare MIS and management reports; explain the numbers, not just submit them
Support budgeting, cash flow tracking, banking, and treasury coordination
Coordinate with auditors and consultants during statutory, internal, and tax audits
Work alongside a small Finance team, reviewing their output and helping them improve
What You'll Grow Into (1218 Months)
Full ownership of the Finance & Accounts function
Leading and mentoring the Finance team independently
Presenting financial insights directly to the Directors and participating in decision-making
Strengthening internal controls, finance processes, and ERP systems
Coordinating with overseas entities on financial reporting, fund management, and international transactions
We will build this plan with you, in writing, with clear milestones and the training required to get there.
Who We're Looking For
4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in accounts and finance, ideally in manufacturing,
trading, exports, or agri-commodities
CA / CMA (qualified or Inter) / MBA Finance / M.Com
Genuinely robust on basic accounting fundamentals someone who can close a set of books independently and stand behind the numbers
Working knowledge of GST, TDS, income tax, and audit coordination
Some experience leading or supervising even a small team one or two people is enough; what matters is that you've reviewed someone else's work and taken responsibility for it
Able to present a clear, honest picture of the financial position no dressing up, no hiding gaps
Comfortable in Tally / ERP and advanced Excel
On AI Our Honest Position
We use AI at work and we expect our finance team to use it too. If you already use AI tools to speed up reporting, analysis, reconciliation checks, or documentation, that's a strong plus. If you don't yet, that's fine we will train you, provided you're genuinely willing to learn.
What we will not accept is dependence. AI drafts; you verify. If a number goes out under your name, you should be able to explain where it came from and defend it without opening a chatbot. We want people who use AI to work faster, not to think less.
The Kind of Person Who Does Well Here
Technical skill gets you shortlisted. How you work is what decides whether you'll enjoy it here.
You bring problems with a proposed solution attached. When something doesn't reconcile,
the mismatch isn't the report your read on why, and what you'd do about it, is the report. We'd rather debate your recommendation than be handed a question.
You drive clarity, not just accuracy. A correct number that nobody understands hasn't done its job. You can take a messy set of figures and give the Directors, the sales team, or a banker a clear,
plain-language picture of where things stand and you can set out for your own team exactly what's expected, by when, and to what standard.
You're collaborative by instinct. Finance here sits in the middle of procurement, operations,
exports, and three countries. You'll get more done by picking up the phone and building the relationship than by sending a follow-up email. You're comfortable working across functions with people who don't think in debits and credits.
You're steady, not reactive. Closings, audits, and year-ends bring pressure. We're looking for someone who gets methodical when things get busy, holds the process, and doesn't let urgency erode accuracy.
You take ownership and close loops. Things don't need to be chased with you. If something is yours, it gets finished and if it slips, you say so early rather than late.
You're open when a mistake is found. Errors happen in every finance function. What matters is that you surface them yourself, fix the root cause, and move on without defensiveness.
You communicate well across a wide table Directors, auditors, bankers, consultants, and international teams and you adjust how you explain things depending on who's listening.
Why Join Us A defined path from Assistant Manager to Manager, with training and mentoring, not a vague promise
Direct access to business leadership from day one
Exposure to overseas subsidiaries and international finance operations A collaborative culture that values integrity, accountability, continuous improvement, and long-term professional growth
Our Values
We believe exceptional finance professionals are recognised not only for their technical expertise, but also for their integrity, reliability, ownership, consistency, and commitment to doing things the right way. If these values resonate with you, we'd love to hear from you.

1. A finance or process improvement initiative you're most proud of, and
2. Where you see yourself in the next two years.
