Role Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer with 7-12 years of experience working on large-scale, enterprise-grade IT infrastructure Networks. This engineering role involves high-level support, hands-on deployments, and escalated troubleshooting across core networking and security systems.
Candidate needs to have experience on devices such as Cisco 9000/8000 series switches and routers, Fortinet Forti Manager/Forti Analyzer, and Palo Alto Panorama/Strata. You will be part of the engineering team, contributing to network transformation, optimization, and infrastructure readiness for the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead or support escalated L3 troubleshooting for complex enterprise network and security major incidents.
- Perform end-to-end design validation, device configuration, migration, and deployment for new network rollouts and upgrades.
- Work on high-performance large data centres and distributed environments
- Provide expert-level support during change implementations, post-deployment testing, and UAT.
- Ensure network designs comply with architectural standards, scalability, and future-readiness goals
- Manage and update high-quality network diagrams and configuration documentation.
- Participate in vendor coordination for hardware issues, RMAs, and software bugs scrubs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Security, Cloud, Ops, service delivery) for holistic incident handling and optimization
- Contribute to problem management reviews, long-tail incident analysis, and remediation planning
- Serve in a 16x7 rotational escalation schedule.
- Device lifecycle management and EOL / EOS management.
Key Technical Skills & Experience: Core Networking & Routing:
- Hands-on experience with Cisco 9000 Series Switches (Catalyst & Nexus), Arista switches.
- Knowledge of Cisco 8000 Series Routers, ASR & ISR platforms
- Strong routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VXLAN, VRF/VRF lite
- SD-WAN knowledge preferred (Cisco, Viptela, Citrix, Versa, Fortinet).
- Cisco Data Centre technologies like ACI (Spine / Leaf) architecture.
- Knowledge of HPE devices would be an added advantage.
Network Security:
- Extensive experience on Fortinet Firewalls (FortiGate) including FortiManager / FortiAnalyzer.
- Deep understanding of Palo Alto Networks including Panorama, Prisma Access / Prisma Cloud, Strata & Next-Gen Firewalls. Familiarity with Cloud instances of PA would be an added advantage.
- Knowledge and administration experience Cisco ISE.
- Familiar with Cisco FMC / FTD (Firepower Threat Defence) and ASA platforms
- Firewall rule design, policy tuning, NAT, segmentation, and HA configurations
- Basic knowledge and understanding of various audit types like ISO / PCI-DSS, SOC, SOC2, VA/PT.
Wireless & LAN
- Experience with HPE Aruba / Fortigate Wireless / Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC 9800 Series) and Aps. Troubleshooting large campus/branch wireless deployments (Wireless Band 5/6/7)
Tools & Automation:
- Experience with Network Monitoring Tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Cisco Catalyst manager)
- Knowledge of Ansible or Python for automation is a bonus
Preferred Certifications (not mandatory but advantageous):
- Cisco: CCNP Enterprise, CCIE (written or lab)
- Palo Alto: PCNSE
- Fortinet: NSE 4/5/6
- Cloud: Azure Network Engineer Associate, AWS Advanced Networking
Soft Skills & Collaboration:
- Solid written and verbal communication skills ability to explain complex topics clearly
- Capability to handle pressure during escalations and major incidents
- Proven ability to work in matrixed environments and across geographies
- Attention to documentation, reporting, and escalation hygiene
- Experience in working with Visio / Ms Excel will be an advantage.
