Key Responsibilities

BigFix Platform Administration & Architecture Maintain, upgrade, and optimize the HCL BigFix infrastructure , including Root Servers, Web Reports, Relays, and Agents. Ensure high availability (HA/DR), scalability, and security of BigFix relays and servers in hybrid cloud/on-prem environments. Troubleshoot complex agent connectivity, relay communication, database performance (SQL), and deployment failures. Patch Management & Software Deployment Plan, schedule, and execute regular OS and 3rd-party application patching across all enterprise endpoints. Develop, test, and deploy custom Fixlets, Tasks, Baselines, and Analyses . Orchestrate automated deployment packages and software lifecycle management across distributed systems. Vulnerability & Compliance Management Monitor endpoint compliance against security baselines (e.g., CIS Benchmarks,). Partner with the IT Security team to analyze vulnerability scans and rapidly deploy remediation actions via BigFix. Generate automated compliance reporting, audit trail documentation, and executive dashboards. Custom Scripting & Automation Write complex Relevance Language statements and Action Scripts for customized targeting, data retrieval, and automated tasks. Leverage BigFix REST APIs, PowerShell, Shell/Bash, or Python to build cross-platform automation workflows. Required Qualifications & Experience Education:



Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent work experience. Experience: 6+ years of experience in IT Systems Administration, with at least 5years dedicated to administering HCL BigFix in an enterprise setting. Technical Skills: BigFix Suite Expertise: Deep knowledge of BigFix Lifecycle, BigFix Compliance, BigFix Inventory (BFI), and BigFix Patch. Language Skills: Advanced proficiency in Relevance Language and BigFix Action Scripting . OS Platforms: Strong hands-on knowledge of Windows Server/Desktop, Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu), and macOS platforms. Scripting/API: Experience with REST APIs, PowerShell, Bash, and SQL queries. Security & Network: Solid understanding of active directory/LDAP, network protocols, firewalls, and vulnerability management frameworks. Experience migrating legacy BigFix systems or expanding into cloud-native endpoints (AWS, Azure). Soft Skills & Key Competencies Analytical Thinking: Exceptional problem-solving skills for debugging system logs and deployment errors. Communication: Ability to translate complex technical vulnerability metrics into actionable reporting for leadership. Autonomy: Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage outages, and meet strict patch SLA deadlines independently.
