Job description
Job Title: Store Incharge
Department: Stores / Warehouse
Reports To: Plant Manager / Operations Manager
Job Summary
The Store Incharge is responsible for overseeing all store operations, maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring timely availability of materials for production, and complying with company policies related to inventory management, safety, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials as per purchase orders and delivery challans.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and preservation of materials to prevent damage or loss.
- Issue raw materials, consumables, and spare parts to production departments as per approved requisitions.
- Maintain accurate stock records in ERP/software and physical registers.
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Monitor minimum, maximum, and reorder stock levels.
- Coordinate with the Purchase Department for material replenishment.
- Prepare Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), Material Issue Slips (MIS), Stock Transfer Notes, and other store-related documents.
- Maintain FIFO (First In, First Out) or FEFO (First Expired, First Out), where applicable.
- Ensure housekeeping standards (5S) and safe storage practices within the warehouse.
- Monitor shelf life and expiry dates of applicable materials.
- Coordinate with Quality Control for inspection and acceptance of incoming materials.
- Manage dispatch of finished goods as per customer requirements.
- Supervise store assistants and warehouse staff.
- Generate daily, weekly,
and monthly inventory and consumption reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO standards, and statutory requirements.
Required Skills
- Strong inventory management and stock control knowledge.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally ERP, etc.).
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and material handling.
- Good analytical and reporting skills.
- Leadership and team management abilities.
- Solid communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Diploma or certification in Materials Management or Warehouse Management is an added advantage.
Experience
- 5 - 10 years of experience in stores or warehouse operations in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with inventory control systems and ERP software is preferred.

Working Conditions
- Work primarily in manufacturing plant stores or warehouse.
- May require lifting, handling materials, and operating warehouse equipment.
- Occasional overtime during stock audits, month-end closing, or peak production periods.
