Role Summary

Responsible for managing the overall operations, sales, customer experience, inventory, merchandising, and team performance of a gourmet retail store. The role requires a person who is highly service oriented, presentable and excellent communicators in English and local and regional languages. Person should have strong retail leadership combined with an understanding of premium food products, customer service, hygiene, and commercial targets.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage daily store operations and ensure smooth opening, closing, billing, and housekeeping procedures.
- Drive sales, revenue, profitability, and achievement of store targets.
- Lead, train, motivate, and schedule store staff to deliver excellent customer service.
- Maintain high standards of visual merchandising, product presentation, and store ambience.
- Manage inventory, stock replenishment, receiving, storage, expiry tracking, wastage, and shrinkage.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of gourmet, fresh, chilled, frozen, and packaged food products.
- Monitor product freshness, quality, expiry dates, and FIFO/FEFO practices.
- Handle customer queries, complaints, feedback, and service recovery professionally.
- Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, finance,



marketing, and other departments.
- Monitor daily sales reports, stock reports, margins, wastage, and other store KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health & safety, and company SOPs.
- Control operational expenses and minimize stock losses and wastage.
- Plan and execute promotions, product launches, tastings, seasonal displays, and special events.
- Maintain accurate cash handling, POS operations, and daily reconciliation.
- Conduct regular stock counts and support audits.
- Build strong relationships with regular customers and promote loyalty and repeat business.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Post-graduate/Graduate preferably from hotel management, with 4-12 years of retail experience, preferably in gourmet food, premium grocery, specialty food, delicatessen, bakery, organic food, or hospitality retail. Must be experienced of either Tier 1; 5 Star Hotels with QSR / Cafe / Premium Grocery chains.
- Strong knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, POS systems, and merchandising.
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and product handling.
- Solid communication, leadership, customer-service, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment, including weekends and holidays.
