The Fleet Safety Officer will support the QSHE Manager / DPA in monitoring and improving the safety performance of the fleet. The role is responsible for safety analysis, incident follow-up, risk management, reporting, and promoting a solid safety and environmental culture across the Company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and monitor fleet safety performance and key safety performance indicators (KPIs).
- Promote a strong safety culture, environmental awareness, and energy efficiency across the Company.
- Ensure effective implementation of the Companys Management System and support continual improvement.
- Participate in risk assessments and risk management activities.
- Participate in incident investigations and monitor the follow-up of incidents and hazardous occurrences.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual safety statistics, reports, and performance figures.
- Support the development and revision of safety-related procedures and processes.
- Compile and edit the quarterly SHEQ Bulletin.
- Identify and report safety trends, issues, and areas requiring further action to the QSHE Manager / DPA.
- Support other safety and QSHE-related activities as required.
Education & Experience:
- University degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role within the shipping industry, or at least 3 years of relevant experience with Columbia Shipmanagement.
- Shipboard experience is an advantage.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Good leadership, communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Reporting:
The Fleet Safety Officer reports to and is accountable to the QSHE Manager / DPA.
