About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounting & Bookkeeping Officer to support an Australian accounting and advisory practice. The role involves managing day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities for multiple clients, including reconciliations, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and assistance with BAS, IAS, and GST preparation. The ideal candidate should be comfortable handling 40+ clients, maintaining accurate records, meeting deadlines, communicating professionally with clients and stakeholders, and working with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple clients, including data entry, reconciliations, and payroll.
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Prepare and reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts.
- Assist with BAS, IAS, and GST preparation.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and support senior accountants in resolving discrepancies.




- Work with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks.
- Use Microsoft Excel for data cleaning, basic formulas, and accounting-related tasks.
- Communicate professionally with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Experience with practice management systems such as XPM.
- Advanced Excel skills.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce (B.Com), CA Intermediate, CMA Intermediate, or a related field.
- 23 years of relevant experience in accounting/bookkeeping, preferably with exposure to Australian accounting processes.
- Experience with Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks is preferred.
- Good knowledge of Australian accounting practices.
- Have good English communication skills with transparent reading, writing, and speaking abilities.
