The In-charge Investigation Cell is responsible for leading and overseeing all investigation activities within the organisation. The role ensures timely, objective, and confidential examination of suspected frauds, irregularities, misconduct, and policy violations, while safeguarding organisational integrity and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
A. Investigation Management
- Plan, initiate, and lead investigations into fraud, financial irregularities, and misconduct.
- Define investigation scope, methodology, and timelines.
- Ensure evidence-based, unbiased conclusions.
B. Evidence Collection & Analysis
- Gather and analyze financial, operational, and digital evidence.
- Conduct interviews and record statements of concerned personnel.
- Maintain proper documentation and chain of custody of evidence.
C. Reporting & Recommendations
- Prepare detailed investigation reports with root cause analysis.
- Quantify financial impact and identify control failures.
- Recommend corrective, preventive, and disciplinary actions.
D. Coordination & Liaison
- Coordinate with Internal concerned departments and external auditors where required.
- Support management in decision-making and disciplinary proceedings.
E. Risk & Control Improvement
- Identify systemic gaps and suggest strengthening of internal controls.
- Contribute to fraud risk assessment and prevention strategies.
F. Confidentiality & Ethics
- Ensure strict confidentiality and integrity throughout investigation process.
- Uphold ethical standards and organisational values.
3. Authority & Powers
- Access to all records, systems, and personnel relevant to investigations.
- Authority to seek explanations and conduct interviews.
- Escalation rights to senior management.
Qualification & Experience
- Chartered Accountant with Minimum 6 years of experience in Internal Audit, Forensic Audit, or Investigation.
- Robust knowledge of fraud detection, forensic techniques, and regulatory frameworks.
