Role & responsibilities

- Manage procurement of raw materials, consumables, spares and MRO items for steel plant operations.
- Develop and manage reliable vendor/supplier network and alternate sources.
- Lead price negotiation, cost reduction and commercial finalization with suppliers.
- Ensure timely availability of materials as per production and maintenance requirements.
- Monitor purchase orders, delivery schedules, quality and vendor performance.
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Stores, Quality, Finance and Logistics teams.
- Control purchase cost, inventory and working capital.
- Handle CAPEX procurement for machinery, equipment and plant projects.
- Lead and guide the Purchase/Procurement team and ensure compliance with company procurement policies.

Preferred candidate profile

Candidates from Integrated Steel Plants, Sponge Iron/DRI, Steel Melting Shop (SMS), Rolling Mills, Ferro Alloy, Billet, Pig Iron or other steel manufacturing companies will be preferred.
