About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Node.js Developer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend development, with strong expertise in Node.js, Microservices Architecture, and PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate should have experience designing and developing scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems and should be comfortable working in a distributed microservices environment.

The role involves developing and maintaining backend services for enterprise-grade applications, designing service-to-service communication, optimizing database performance, and collaborating closely with frontend, DevOps, QA, and architecture teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and RESTful APIs using Node.js.
- Design and implement robust microservices architecture with clear service boundaries, independent deployment, and scalability.
- Develop highly reliable and maintainable microservices using appropriate design patterns and best practices.
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including schemas, relationships, indexes, queries, transactions, and database constraints.
- Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries and database performance for high-volume applications.
- Implement service-to-service communication using REST APIs and asynchronous messaging mechanisms such as RabbitMQ.
- Develop secure APIs with proper authentication, authorization, validation, error handling, logging, and API versioning.
- Implement caching strategies using Redis to improve application performance and scalability.
- Handle distributed transactions, asynchronous processing, retries, idempotency, and failure handling in microservices environments.




- Develop unit and integration tests and ensure code quality through appropriate testing practices and code reviews.
- Collaborate with DevOps engineers on containerized deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes-based environments.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions for reliability and performance.
- Participate in technical design discussions, architecture decisions, code reviews, and estimation of development activities.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to establishing coding standards, development practices, and technical documentation.

Required Skills

- 5+ years of professional experience in backend development with strong hands-on experience in Node.js.
- Very strong practical experience in designing and developing Microservices Architecture.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
- Excellent hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including complex queries, indexing, transactions, database design, and performance optimization.
- Strong experience developing RESTful APIs and integrating distributed backend services.
- Good understanding of microservices design patterns, service discovery, fault tolerance, retries, circuit breakers, idempotency, and distributed system concepts.
- Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ or other message brokers for asynchronous communication.




- Good experience with Redis for caching and performance optimization.
- Strong understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms such as JWT and role-based access control.
- Experience with Git and standard software development workflows.
- Strong understanding of API security, data validation, exception handling, logging, and performance optimization.
- Good understanding of Docker and containerized application environments.
- Experience working with Agile development methodologies.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with NestJS or similar Node.js frameworks.
- Experience developing applications deployed on AWS.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes and Amazon EKS.
- Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with AWS services such as RDS, S3, ElastiCache, SQS, or similar services.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Experience working on high-traffic, enterprise-grade, or transaction-intensive applications.
- Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, eCommerce, fintech, or other domain requiring secure and highly reliable backend systems.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
