Job Summary
The role sits within the Measurement, Analytics and Products (MAP) team at Samhita.
Responsibilities
- Support impact evaluation of programs under Samhita s including research design, sampling, survey administration, data cleaning, analysis and report preparation.
- Support the end-to-end data management process, including developing data collection templates, monitoring data quality, identifying gaps and ensuring data is organised and ready for analysis.
- Assist in developing analysis plans and conduct data analysis using statistical tools/software to generate meaningful insights from program data.
- Support the creation of dashboards, presentations, pitch decks, proposals, concept notes and other knowledge products based on program data and insights. Contribute to the development of knowledge products by supporting the process from data collection and analysis to documentation and dissemination of findings through reports, presentations, blogs and other formats.
- Support the team in building an evidence base by analysing program data and developing insights that can contribute to fundraising, organisational strategy and advocacy efforts.
- Conduct secondary research and prepare relevant data points, research notes and insights to support senior team members in developing proposals, concept notes and strategic recommendations.
- Support the impact evaluation of programs under Samhita s Blended Finance Prosperity Accelerator, including research, survey administration, data collection, basic data analysis and report preparation.
- Assist in managing program data across its lifecycle, including developing data collection templates, organising datasets,
conducting data quality checks and supporting the documentation of findings.
- Support the development of analysis plans and conduct basic to intermediate data analysis using relevant statistical software to identify trends and insights.
- Assist in creating dashboards, presentations, pitch decks, proposals, concept notes and other documents based on program data and research findings.
- Support the development of knowledge products by helping with data collection, analysis, documentation and dissemination of insights through reports, presentations, blogs and other formats.
- Support the team in building an evidence base by collecting, analysing and documenting program data and insights that can contribute to fundraising, strategy development and advocacy.
- Conduct desk research and prepare relevant data points, research notes and background information to support senior team members in developing proposals and concept notes.
- Support research on potential clients, including companies and foundations, and assist the team in identifying opportunities related to research, monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment.
- Demonstrate curiosity and critical thinking by identifying data gaps,
highlighting areas for improvement and contributing to strengthening data and research processes.
- Work closely with internal teams such as Implementation, Technology and Growth & Innovation, as well as external stakeholders including funders, implementation partners and other partners, to support timely completion of research, data and knowledge-related activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor s or Master s degree required (economics, statistics, econometrics, public policy, or other related disciplines)
- 1-3 years of experience working with on-ground social impact research projects and -managing their end-to-end execution (including research design, sampling, tool creation and data collection and analysis)
- Excellent understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods (econometrics, statistics, and research design)
- Demonstrated experience working on statistics software (Excel, STATA, R,) and data visualisation tools (Google Data Studio, Flourish, Tableau)
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
- Fluency and excellent communication skills in English (and fluency in other local Indian languages - Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi desirable)
