Position: General Manager Bookkeeping

Department: Accounts

Reporting To: Managing Director

Role Overview

The General Manager Bookkeeping will lead the organization's bookkeeping and accounting operations, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and governance. The incumbent will play a critical leadership role in optimizing accounting processes, implementing best practices, and ensuring seamless coordination with internal stakeholders, auditors, and regulatory authorities.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

- Lead, mentor, and develop the bookkeeping and accounting team.
- Allocate responsibilities, monitor performance, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct periodic training on accounting standards, statutory updates, and financial best practices.

Process Improvement

- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and eliminate manual

processes.

- Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the accounts Team.

Accounting & Bookkeeping

- Lead and oversee end-to-end bookkeeping and accounting operations, ensuring complete,

accurate, and timely recording of financial transactions.





- Ensure maintenance of the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank Reconciliations, Fixed Assets Register, and other accounting records.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial schedules before finalization.
- Ensure accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closures.
- Prepare and review monthly MIS, management reports, and variance analyses.
- Ensure compliance with Indian Accounting Standards

Statutory & Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure timely compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act, and other

applicable statutory requirements.

- Oversee statutory filings, reconciliations, and tax-related documentation.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory

authorities during audits and assessments.

- Ensure audit readiness and timely closure of audit observation.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CA / CMA preferred (CA Inter with significant leadership experience may also be

considered).

- 15 years of progressive experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance operations, and

financial management.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MIS reporting
