JOB DESCRIPTION
JD- Emergency Nurse
- 1. Responsible for maintaining care standards in the emergency room
- 2. Initiate triage and help doctors in providing treatment in case of mass casualties
- 3. Work closely with doctors to keep patients and their family members updated on test results or treatment recommendations
- 4. Maintain contact with laboratory personnel to report any initial lab findings back to the ER doctors
- 5. Make arrangements for patients that are deemed to need care requiring them to be admitted to the hospital for one night or longer
- 6. Ensure adequate stock of medicines and consumables in Recovery room
- 7. Ensure all medical equipments are in functional status and report to BME Department in case of any breakdown or due preventive maintenance and calibration
- 8. Take care of Crash cart trolley for adequate stock , timely replenishment and maintain checklist
- 9. Maintain departmental documentations including quality indicators
- 10. Participate actively in training programs for enhancing professional and technical knowledge
- 11. Participate in quality assurance activities for continuous quality improvement of department and organization
- JD- Post- OP Recovery
- 1. Evaluate patients condition, vital signs and assess when she/hes ready to move to the ward
- 2. Symptomatic management - administer pain or anti-nausea medication to control the symptoms as per anaesthetists/ surgeons order
- 3. Early recognition of clinical problems and report to doctor, or take appropriate action if emergency
- 4. Provide Oxygen therapy and secretion suctions if needed
- 5. Collect specimens such as blood, sputum, stool and urine, order and record laboratory results
- 6. Take care for a patient until he/she has recovered from anesthesia
- 7. Inform anesthetist/surgeon for any compliant and complications
- 8. Ensure adequate stock of medicines and consumables in Recovery room
- 9.
Ensure all medical equipments are in functional status and report to BME Department in case of any breakdown or due preventive maintenance and calibration
- 10. Take care of Crash cart trolley for adequate stock , timely replenishment and maintain checklist
- 11. Demonstrate positive communication skills with patients, families, Consultants and members of the multi-disciplinary team
- 12. Maintain environmental sterility and movements of staffs/visitors in Post- op Recovery room
- 13. Adhere to infection control practices w. r. t. patient care and within recovery room
- 14. Maintain departmental documentations including quality indicators
- 15. Participate actively in training programmes for enhancing professional and technical knowledge
- 16. Participate in quality assurance activities for continuous quality improvement of department and organization.
- 17. Give proper handover while shifting back the patient to the private room/ward.
- JD- Ward Nurse
- 1. To ensure delivery of patient care through implementation of prescribed medication and monitoring effects.
- 2. To provide nursing care to patients based on established clinical practice standards.
- 3. To collaborate with other disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery.
- 4. To actively participate in programs for quality improvement in nursing practices.
- 5. To maintain positive interpersonal relations with subordinates & seniors.
- 6. To promote a safe environment for patients, visitors and coworkers including the implementations of infection control policies of the hospital.
- 7. To perform the initial and reassessment of the patient within the defined time frame.
- 8. To check daily inventory of Medicines & Other Equipments.
- 9. To provide Pre & Post operative care to the inpatient as per protocols.
- 10. To provide health education to the patients as required.
- 11. To instruct IV Class staff for cleaning, changing of bed sheets, sponging the patient, other routine necessities of patients and biomedical waste management. Report Checking of all patients.(Supervisory).
- 12. To give priority to emergency cases and to co-ordinate with the consultants / respective department for the same.

To maintain appropriate departmental documentation.
- 14. To treat all communication about patients, staff, and other organizational business confidentially.
- 15. To be involved in quality Assurance / Quality control activities.
- 16. To perform all the jobs as may be assigned due to exigencies of work.
- 17. Participation in Continuous Quality Improvement.
- 18. To communicate all patient grievances to the nursing supervisor.
- 19. To elaborate all discharge medications, follow up visit and DJR date.
JD- OPD Nurse
- 1. Initial assessment of patients before consultation and inform immediately if there any emergency concern.
- 2. Insure adequate inventory in consultation ; chamber
- 3. Minor dressing of OPD Patients. As doctors advice.
- 4. To treat all communication about patients, staff, and other organizational business confidentially.
- 5. To be involved in quality Assurance / Quality control activities.
- 6. To perform all the jobs as may be assigned due to exigencies of work.
- 7. Participation in Continuous Quality Improvement
JD - ICU Nurse
- Observe and assess patient vital signs and initiate appropriate medical interventions when necessary
- Develops, implements and evaluates a plan of care based on patient's needs.
- Identify and address potential complications such as infections, bleeding, or respiratory issues early to prevent deterioration
- Evaluate and manage patients' pain levels, administering pain relief medications as prescribed
- Follow strict hygiene and safety protocols to prevent the transmission of illnesses and ensure patient safety
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families during critical and often stressful periods.
Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, documenting all medical interventions, patient responses, and changes in condition.
- Manage inventory of medicines/consumables and ensure the stock is available and adequate
- Check Biomedical equipments are in functional status and maintain related checklists
- Manage and maintain crash cart trolley
- Prepare patients for discharge from ICU by ensuring they are stable and providing discharge instructions
- Keep accurate and detailed records of patients' recovery progress, interventions provided, and any observations relevant to their ongoing care
- Participate in continuous quality improvement and training programs.
