Job PurposeTo perform gas cutting, welding, fabrication, repair, and related activities safely and accurately as per drawings, measurements, and production requirements.

- Key Responsibilities
- Perform gas cutting of MS plates, pipes, sections, and other metal components as per required dimensions.
- Carry out gas welding and basic arc/MIG welding work as required.
- Read and understand basic fabrication drawings, measurements, and cutting instructions.
- Set up and operate gas cutting equipment, welding machines, regulators, hoses, torches, and accessories.
- Prepare and fit-up components before welding.
- Ensure proper alignment, dimensions, and quality of fabricated parts.
- Grind, clean, and finish welded/cut surfaces.
- Inspect work for defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, improper joints, and dimensional errors.
- Maintain welding and gas-cutting equipment in good working condition.
- Follow all safety procedures related to welding, gas cylinders, fire prevention, PPE, and hot work.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping in the work area.
- Report equipment problems, material shortages, and quality issues to the supervisor.
- Perform other fabrication and maintenance duties as assigned.
- Required Skills & Qualifications
- ITI / vocational training in Welder, Fitter, Fabricator, or equivalent preferred.
- Relevant experience as a Gas Cutter / Welder in fabrication, engineering,



or manufacturing industries.
- Good knowledge of gas cutting and welding techniques.
- Ability to use measuring tools such as measuring tape, scale, and vernier caliper.
- Ability to understand basic fabrication drawings is preferred.
- Knowledge of secure handling of oxygen/LPG or acetylene gas cylinders.
- Physically fit and able to work in a workshop/industrial environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Safety Requirements
- Mandatory use of helmet/face shield, welding goggles, gloves, safety shoes, apron, and other required PPE.
- Check gas hoses, regulators, torches, and connections before starting work.
- Follow proper cylinder storage, handling, and transportation procedures.
- Ensure adequate ventilation and fire-safety arrangements during hot work.
- Follow company permit-to-work and hot-work procedures wherever applicable.

ExperiencePreferred:

 2–5 years of relevant experience.

Freshers: May be considered if they have suitable ITI/vocational training and practical skills.
