Description
WSP GCC HK Advisory is seeking an Engineer (ICT) to be part of Electrical &ICT; team that supports WSP HK Advisory business in delivering designs, from concept stage to detailed design, for major multi-disciplinary projects. The individual will have the prospect to work on some of the most exciting projects including sewage water treatment plants, Buildings, infrastructure, Highways, rail, Metro rail, Mainline railway, Tunnel (TVS).
The ICT Engineer is responsible for independent design delivery of ICT and ELV systems for multidisciplinary Infrastructure projects. The role involves client interaction, coordination with multiple stakeholders, and ownership of assigned project packages.
Responsibilities
Designing and Developing ICT Systems
Develop concept, schematic, and detailed designs for:
- Structured Cabling (Cat 6/6A, Fiber – SM/MM)
- LAN, WAN & Wi‑Fi systems
- Telephony & Unified Communications
- CCTV, Video Surveillance System, Access Control, Intrusion Detection & Security Systems
- AV, PA, and Emergency Communication Systems
- Prepare drawings, specifications, BOQs, and design reports
- Mapping of Radar, Li Dar, Traffic Control & Surveillance System
- Should have a deep understanding of network architecture, infrastructure, databases, and security protocols to ensure a reliable and effective system.
- Technical Team
- Participate in client meetings, design workshops, and reviews.
- Support tendering activities, including technical clarifications and evaluations.
- Coordinate for the activities, handling tasks, providing technical guidance, fostering collaborations.
Quality & Standards
- Ensure compliance with TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC, IEEE, BICSI, NFPA, and local codes.
- Apply resilience, redundancy, and cybersecurity principles where applicable.
- Ensure project deliverables meet internal quality and program requirements.
Key Competencies / Skills / Qualifications
Mandatory skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical design principles and power systems
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, AMTECH, EPLAN, Dialux, or MATLAB ,ELUM TOOL,
- Understanding of LV/MV/HV systems, switchgear, transformers, and protection systems
- Knowledge of electrical standards and safety regulations
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Requirements
- Experience in sectors like buildings, infrastructure, power, or oil & gas
- Familiarity with BIM tools (Revit MEP) is an advantage
- Knowledge of energy efficiency and green building standards
Qualifications
- The candidate should be a graduate electrical engineer with minimum 6+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in design consultancy, EPC projects, or industrial projects is preferred
