Review and analyse loan applications, credit reports, income documents, asset statements, collateral, and all closing documentation, to make an informed decision to the Client/Investor on any saleability issues on a loan.
Ø Evaluate borrower risk based on creditworthiness and compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines.
Ø Make sound underwriting decisions and issue approvals, suspensions, or denials based on documented findings.
Ø Ensure compliance with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, and other agency/investor guidelines.
Ø Provides final approval underwriting of mortgage loans.
Ø Sign off conditions in a timely manner set by management.
Ø Participate in internal audits and assist in resolution of post-closing and quality control issues.
Ø Work with staff and management to find solutions on escalated loans.
Must have skills
Ø 4C’s of underwriting
Ø Conv & Govt loan products (FHA, VA & USDA)
Minimum of 4+ years of experience in US mortgage underwriting.
Ø Any graduation / Post Graduation is preferred.
Ø Strong knowledge of conventional and government loan underwriting (FHA, VA, USDA).
Ø Familiarity with AUS systems (DU/LP), loan origination systems, and compliance requirements.
Ø Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
Ø Solid verbal and written communication skills.
Ø PCQC/PFQC Experience required.
