Description

Responsible for strategic sourcing, procurement, contract negotiation, and supplier management for API compressors, pumps, rotating equipment, and CAPEX-related purchases. Ensure cost optimization, timely delivery, quality compliance, and adherence to project schedules while supporting engineering, operations, and project teams.

Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing

- Handle end-to-end procurement activities for API compressors, pumps, mechanical packages, and CAPEX equipment.
- Source materials and equipment from approved global and domestic suppliers.
- Floating RFQs, techno-commercial evaluations, bid analysis, and supplier selection.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranty, and contractual conditions.
- Prepare Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure compliance with company procurement policies.

Vendor Management

- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with OEMs and key suppliers.
- Conduct vendor qualification, performance evaluation, and supplier audits.
- Monitor supplier delivery performance and implement corrective actions where required.
- Identify alternate suppliers to mitigate supply chain risks.

CAPEX Procurement

- Manage procurement of capital equipment, plant machinery, utilities, fabrication items, and project-related purchases.
- Coordinate with engineering and project teams to understand technical requirements.
- Ensure procurement activities align with project schedules and budget targets.

Technical Procurement

- Interpret technical specifications, datasheets, GA drawings, and API standards (API 610, API 617, API 618, API 614, API 672, etc.).
- Work closely with engineering teams for technical bid evaluation and vendor clarification.




- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and project specifications.

Cost Optimization

- Execute cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and value engineering.
- Analyze market trends, commodity prices, and supplier capabilities.
- Develop long-term agreements and framework contracts to achieve cost savings.

Contract & Commercial Management

- Review and negotiate commercial contracts and procurement agreements.
- Manage claims, deviations, liquidated damages, and contractual disputes.
- Ensure compliance with procurement governance and audit requirements.

Supply Chain Coordination

- Track order progress and expedite critical deliveries.
- Coordinate with logistics, quality, engineering, and warehouse teams.
- Resolve supply chain issues impacting project execution.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
- MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain Management or Operations (preferred).

Required Experience

- 3-6 years of procurement experience in API compressors, pumps, rotating equipment, EPC, oil & gas, petrochemical, power, or manufacturing industries.
- Experience in CAPEX procurement and project purchasing.
- Robust exposure to OEMs, engineering equipment, and project procurement.

Technical Skills

- Knowledge of API standards and rotating equipment procurement.
- SAP MM / SAP S4 HANA, Oracle, or ERP systems.
- Strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
- Contract management and commercial evaluation.
- Cost analysis and procurement planning.
- Vendor development and supplier performance management.
