Job Designation: Web Administrator

Job Summary:

The Web Administrator will be responsible for the design, development, administration, maintenance, performance monitoring, security, and overall management of multiple websites and web-based systems. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in PHP, HTML/XHTML, open-source technologies, Content Management Systems, databases, and Windows/Linux server environments. The incumbent will independently manage web systems, troubleshoot technical issues, coordinate with vendors, and ensure optimal website performance, availability, and security.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, manage, maintain, and update multiple websites independently.

- Develop and maintain web applications using PHP 5, HTML, XHTML, and other relevant web technologies.

- Manage and administer Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Joomla, WordPress, Drupal, etc.

- Monitor web system performance and conduct system monitoring and analysis.

- Perform performance tuning, optimization, and system load/stress testing.

- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve website and application-related issues.

- Escalate application and technical problems to vendors wherever required and coordinate for timely resolution.

- Manage databases such as MySQL and MS SQL Server (MSSQL), including database maintenance and troubleshooting.

- Work with Windows and Linux server operating systems for web hosting and administration.

- Ensure web system security by developing and implementing appropriate system access, monitoring, and control policies.

- Perform regular backups and ensure availability and integrity of website and application data.

- Maintain technical documentation, system configurations, access details, backup records, and other relevant documentation.





- Monitor website availability, functionality, security, and overall performance.

- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors for website-related requirements and enhancements.

- Ensure timely implementation of website updates, modifications, and technical improvements.

- Provide technical support for web-related issues and ensure minimum downtime.

- Work in shifts, including extended hours when required, to ensure uninterrupted web operations.

Educational Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, or a related discipline from a recognized University/Institution.

Professional Certifications

- Certifications in Web Administration, PHP, Linux/Windows Server Administration, Database Administration, Cybersecurity, or related technologies will be an added advantage.

Professional Experience

- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in web administration, website development, and management.

- Hands-on experience in PHP 5, HTML, XHTML, and open-source software.

- Experience working with CMS platforms such as Joomla, WordPress, Drupal, etc.

- Experience with databases such as MySQL and MSSQL.

- Experience working with Windows and Linux server operating systems.

- Experience in website design, development, maintenance, and independent management of multiple websites.

- Experience in system monitoring, performance analysis, performance tuning, and load/stress testing.

- Experience in website security, access control, backup management, and technical documentation.

Skills and Competencies

- Strong hands-on knowledge of PHP 5, HTML, and XHTML.

- Strong knowledge of CMS platforms such as Joomla, WordPress, and Drupal.

- Valuable knowledge of MySQL and MSSQL databases.

- Knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration.

- Knowledge of web server performance monitoring, analysis, and optimization.
