Job Summary
ACI Worldwide is seeking an experienced Sr Software Engineer with strong Mainframe and COBOL development expertise to join our Card & Merchant Management (CMM) engineering team. This role focuses on designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting mission-critical payment processing applications used by leading financial institutions worldwide.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in COBOL-based development, strong analytical problem-solving skills,



experience in high-volume transaction processing environments, and a passion for adopting AI-powered engineering practices to improve quality, productivity, and operational excellence.
A Typical Day at ACI
- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions supporting ACI's card payment platforms.
- Develop and support applications utilizing COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM on IBM Mainframe environments.
- Participate in architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and code reviews to ensure engineering excellence.
- Develop and execute automated unit, integration, and regression tests to ensure product quality.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve customer-reported defects and production incidents.
