Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Engineer data models and data transformations
- Determine what data extract, transform, and load (ETL) operations are necessary for a given requirement
- Schedule, monitor, and debug data operations jobs
- Work with data architects and other data engineers to implement requests from business stakeholders
- Contribute to the continual improvement of standards and conventions in data organization
- Communicate ideas and designs clearly to technical stakeholders
- Explain the thinking behind design choices and approach technical criticism and suggestions with humility
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree. Minimum 8 years of experience in software engineering with substantial experience in data engineering, or 4 years of strong experience in data engineering, with robust expertise in data modeling and data architecture.
- Strong experience with SQL, Python
Desired Characteristics
Technical Expertise:
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum methodology
- Understanding of code review/GitHub/version control
- Understanding on designing & implementing data pipelines
- Understanding on building AI-ready data foundations
- Experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g. Data Bricks, Azure)
- Experience using GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools to improve developer productivity, code quality, and software
