We are looking for a hands-on PHP Developer with 2+ years of experience building and maintaining websites using Core PHP and MySQL. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across the full stack from front-end markup to back-end logic to live deployment — and can take ownership of a project from development through to production.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain websites/web applications using Core PHP and MySQL
- Build responsive front-end pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Write clean, secure, and optimized database queries
- Deploy and manage websites on live servers (upload, configuration, troubleshooting)
- Debug and fix issues across front-end and back-end
- Collaborate with designers/other developers to implement requirements
- Maintain basic documentation of code and deployment steps
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Core PHP (procedural/OOP, non-framework)
- Strong working knowledge of MySQL (schema design, queries, joins, optimization)
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Practical experience deploying websites to live/production servers (cPanel, VPS, FTP, or similar)
- Familiarity with AJAX/jQuery
- Basic understanding of Git or other version control
- Good debugging skills and ability to work independently
- Comfortable using AI coding tools (e.g. Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to speed up development, and able to critically review, test, and verify AI-generated code before using it
Nice to Have
- Exposure to a PHP framework (Laravel, CodeIgniter)
- Basic Linux server administration
- Understanding of REST APIs
