Job Description Senior Accountant n Department: Finance & Accounts
n Reporting To: Finance Head
n Location: Airnet Head Office
n Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Rolen We are looking for a Senior Accountant – AP, Taxation & Compliance who can independently manage day-to-day accounting responsibilities, with robust ownership of Accounts Payable, taxation, reconciliations and statutory compliance.
n The ideal candidate should be highly accountable, detail-oriented and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. This is a hands-on role where the individual will be expected to take ownership from start to finish rather than wait for instructions or follow-ups.
Key Responsibilities1. Accounts Payable – APn n Manage the complete vendor payment and Accounts Payable cycle.
n Verify vendor invoices against PO, GRN and supporting documents.
n Ensure correct accounting of purchase invoices, expenses, GST and TDS.
n Maintain accurate vendor ledgers.
n Prepare and maintain vendor ageing and outstanding reports.
n Prepare payment schedules based on due dates, business priorities and available cash flow.
n Coordinate with vendors regarding invoices, outstanding balances and payment status.
n Reconcile vendor accounts regularly and resolve discrepancies.
n Track vendor advances, debit notes and credit notes.
n Coordinate with Purchase, Warehouse, Billing and Operations for invoice discrepancies.
n Ensure no payment is processed without appropriate supporting documents and approvals.
n 2. GST & Taxationn n Handle day-to-day GST-related accounting and compliance activities.
n Reconcile GSTR-2B with purchase records and books of accounts.
n Identify and resolve GST mismatches and ineligible ITC.
n Ensure correct GST treatment of purchase and expense transactions.
n Assist in preparation and filing of applicable GST returns.
n Handle TDS calculation, deduction, payment and return-related activities.
n Maintain proper records and documentation for GST and TDS.
n Track statutory tax payment and filing deadlines.
n Coordinate with the CA/tax consultant for tax matters, assessments, notices and reconciliations.
n 3. Accounting & Reconciliationsn n Maintain accurate accounting records in Tally/ERP.
n Perform regular vendor ledger reconciliations.
n Perform bank reconciliations.
n Review purchase, expense and journal entries for accuracy.
n Monitor outstanding advances and other balance sheet items.
n Identify duplicate,
incorrect or unusual entries and take corrective action.
n Assist with monthly and year-end closing.
n Prepare schedules and supporting documents required for audits.
n Ensure proper documentation and audit trail for accounting transactions.
n 4. Compliance & Controlsn n Maintain a statutory compliance calendar and ensure all deadlines are met.
n Ensure timely completion of GST, TDS and other applicable statutory requirements.
n Maintain proper records for statutory audits and assessments.
n Ensure adherence to internal approval and payment processes.
n Identify control gaps and recommend improvements.
n Ensure that financial transactions are properly supported and authorised.
n Assist in strengthening internal financial controls and accounting processes.
n 5. Reporting & MISn n Prepare weekly AP ageing and vendor outstanding reports.
n Prepare payment schedules and upcoming liability reports.
n Report pending reconciliations and unresolved issues.
n Provide regular updates on statutory liabilities and compliance status.
n Assist the Finance Head in preparing monthly financial reports and MIS.
n Highlight unusual transactions, financial risks or discrepancies immediately.
n Independence & Accountabilityn This role requires a high level of ownership and independent working.
n n Take complete ownership of assigned accounting, AP and compliance activities from start to finish.
n Work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.
n Be responsible for meeting all statutory and internal deadlines without repeated follow-ups.
n Proactively identify errors, mismatches, pending items and compliance risks.
n Take corrective action rather than simply reporting a problem.
n Maintain trackers for pending payments, reconciliations, filings and other critical activities.
n Follow up independently with vendors, internal departments, banks, CA and consultants until closure.
n Escalate significant issues before they become problems, along with a proposed solution.
n Take accountability for the accuracy and completeness of all work handled.
n Maintain proper documentation and audit trail for every transaction.
n During the absence of the Finance Head, be capable of independently managing the assigned AP, taxation and compliance responsibilities.
n Missed deadlines, unresolved issues or errors should be proactively communicated and owned rather than attributed to lack of instructions or follow-up.

n Candidate Profilen Qualification:
n n B.Com / M.Com preferred.
n CA Inter would be an advantage.
n n Experience:
n n 3–6 years of relevant experience in Accounts, AP, GST and TDS.
n Experience in trading, distribution, retail or FMCG/electronics businesses preferred.
n n Technical Skills:
n n Strong knowledge of GST and TDS.
n GSTR-2B and purchase reconciliation.
n Vendor reconciliation and AP ageing.
n Bank reconciliation.
n Tally / ERP.
n Good working knowledge of MS Excel.
n Basic understanding of financial controls and audit requirements.
