Role & responsibilities

Factory & Plant Operations

- Take overall responsibility for day-to-day operations of the Chennai/Thiruvallur manufacturing facility.
- Ensure production targets are achieved in line with sales demand, production plans and business requirements.
- Drive productivity, operational efficiency, capacity utilization and cost optimization.
- Monitor production, quality, maintenance, manpower, material availability and dispatch performance.
- Ensure effective production planning and coordination with Sales, Supply Chain and Procurement teams.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve plant performance.
- Drive continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, 5S and process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, raw materials and other resources.

Sales & Business Support

- Work closely with the Pan-India Sales Head to understand market demand, sales forecasts and customer requirements.
- Ensure manufacturing and dispatch plans are aligned with Pan-India sales requirements.
- Support the Sales Head in ensuring product availability across regions and timely fulfilment of customer/dealer requirements.
- Coordinate closely with Sales, Logistics, Warehouse and Supply Chain teams to resolve supply-related issues.
- Monitor production and inventory levels against sales requirements and take proactive corrective action.
- Support management in identifying capacity requirements, product availability issues and opportunities for operational improvement.

- Facilitate quick resolution of customer and dealer-related operational issues involving production,



quality or supply.

Performance Management

- Monitor plant KPIs including production output, productivity, rejection, downtime, inventory, capacity utilization,

OTIF dispatch and cost.

- Review operational performance regularly and implement improvement plans wherever required.
- Ensure effective budgeting and control of operational expenses.
- Prepare periodic MIS and performance reports for senior management.
- Identify opportunities for automation, capacity enhancement and process optimization.

Cross-Functional Leadership

- Work closely with the Pan-India Sales Head, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, HR, Quality, Maintenance and Logistics teams.
- Ensure effective coordination between factory operations and the wider business.
- Build and develop a strong plant leadership and supervisory team.
- Establish accountability and a performance-driven culture across the factory.
- Support senior management in implementing strategic business initiatives

Quality, Compliance & Safety

- Ensure adherence to quality standards and customer specifications.
- Drive reduction in rejection, rework and material wastage.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, environmental, safety and regulatory requirements.




- Promote a strong culture of workplace safety and operational discipline.

Preferred candidate profile

Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration or a related discipline.

MBA / PG qualification will be an added advantage.

12 to 18 years of relevant experience in manufacturing operations, with significant experience in a factory/plant

leadership role.

Experience in plastics, pipes & fittings, sanitaryware, bathware, water storage, building materials or allied

manufacturing industries will be preferred.

Strong experience in plant operations, production planning, inventory, quality, maintenance and supply chain

coordination.

Experience working closely with Sales/Commercial teams and understanding demand-driven manufacturing.

Robust exposure to KPI management, cost control, productivity improvement and operational excellence.

Proven ability to manage large teams and multiple functions.

Strong communication, decision-making, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.

Willingness to work closely with senior management and travel as required.

We are looking for a hands-on operations leader who can run the Chennai factory independently while acting as

a strong operational partner to the Pan-India Sales Head.

The candidate should be commercially aware, data-driven and capable of converting sales requirements into effective

production and supply execution.
