Job Summary
Shift Incharge in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The role is focused on pharmaceutical/API production operations and requires an experienced professional capable of supervising manufacturing activities, maintaining regulatory compliance, monitoring critical process parameters, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
Job Type: Full time.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all production activities during the assigned shift and ensure achievement of scheduled production targets.
- Monitor API manufacturing operations including reaction, distillation, filtration, centrifugation, drying, milling, and blending.
- Ensure strict compliance with cGMP, GDP, EHS, SOPs, and applicable quality requirements.
- Verify line clearance, equipment readiness, raw-material availability, utilities, and manufacturing documentation before batch initiation.
- Review and maintain Batch Manufacturing Records, equipment usage records, logbooks, and shift reports.
- Monitor critical process parameters and ensure manufacturing operations remain within validated process limits.
- Coordinate with QA, QC, Warehouse, Engineering, Utilities, and EHS teams to maintain uninterrupted production.
- Investigate deviations, equipment breakdowns, and production issues and participate in RCA and CAPA implementation.
Required Skills
- API Manufacturing: Hands-on understanding of pharmaceutical/API production processes including reaction, filtration, centrifugation, drying, milling, and blending.
- cGMP GDP Compliance:
Ability to execute and supervise manufacturing activities according to regulated pharmaceutical practices.
- Production Documentation: Experience reviewing BMRs, logbooks, equipment records, and shift documentation.
- Process Monitoring: Ability to monitor critical process parameters and maintain operations within validated limits.
- Deviation / RCA / CAPA: Practical knowledge of investigating production deviations and supporting corrective and preventive actions.
Preferred Skills
- Process and cleaning validation exposure.
- Technology transfer experience.
- Strong understanding of equipment cleaning, sanitization, and product changeover procedures.
Work Experience
Candidates should have 4 years of experience, preferably in pharmaceutical/API manufacturing or a closely related production workplace. Experience should include shift production supervision, regulated manufacturing documentation, process monitoring, equipment operations, and coordination with Quality, Engineering, Warehouse, and EHS functions.
Education
- Minimum: Typical B.Sc / B.Tech / B.E / Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Technology, or a related discipline
- Preferred: Typical Degree in Chemical Engineering / Pharmaceutical Technology
- Additional: Training or certification in cGMP, EHS, process safety, or pharmaceutical manufacturing is advantageous
