Position Summary:
The Process Improvement and Automation Intern will support the Automation Center of Excellence (CoE) in building, testing, and documenting workflow automations and AI-enabled solutions that improve operational efficiency. This internship offers hands-on exposure to enterprise automation, AI tools, and process improvement initiatives. The intern will work closely with experienced automation professionals and cross-functional teams to learn how business processes are analysed, automated, and optimized using platforms such as Power Automate, Perygee, and Copilot Studio, along with foundational Python scripting and Generative AI concepts. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates passionate about AI, automation, and digital transformation, looking to gain real-world enterprise experience.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Support automation development
Assist in building and configuring automation workflows using Power Automate (Cloud/Desktop), Perygee, and related tools under guidance from senior team members. Help with basic logic, connectors, and workflow configurations.
Process analysis & documentation support
Work with team members to understand business processes, document current workflows, and identify potential automation opportunities. Assist in preparing process maps and basic requirement notes.
Assist with AI & GenAI use cases
Support development and testing of AI-enabled features such as chatbots, prompts, or data-driven automations using Copilot Studio, Python, and Generative AI concepts. Learn prompt engineering and AI-assisted automation techniques.
Testing and troubleshooting support
Participate in unit testing and basic integration testing of automations. Help identify issues, document defects, and support fixes under supervision.
Documentation & governance assistance
Help maintain Solution Design Documents (SDDs), SOPs, runbooks, and other CoE documentation. Ensure updates follow standard templates and governance guidelines.
Monitoring & continuous improvement support
Assist in monitoring deployed automations, tracking basic performance metrics, and supporting enhancement initiatives driven by the CoE.
Other Assigned duties:
- Support pilot projects, proof-of-concepts, and internal innovation initiatives
- Participate in automation demos, knowledge-sharing sessions, and training programs
- Assist in evaluating new automation or AI tools
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Process Improvement and Automation Manager or CoE Leads
Required Abilities and Skills:
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding or exposure to Microsoft Power Automate (preferred)
- Interest in workflow automation, RPA, and low-code platforms
- Basic Python knowledge or willingness to learn scripting
- Introductory understanding of AI, chatbots, or Generative AI concepts
- Familiarity with APIs, JSON, or integrations is a plus
- Exposure to process mapping or diagramming tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Miro)

Education and Experience:
- Pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, AI, or a related field Additional advantage:

- Coursework, certifications, or online training in RPA, Automation, AI, or Python
- Academic or personal projects related to automation, workflows, or AI
- Exposure to Power Platform, UiPath, or similar tools
Experience:
- 0–1 year (Internship / Academic / Project-based experience acceptable)
- No prior enterprise experience required training and mentorship will be provided
