Job Purpose

To train and support differently-abled individuals in acquiring vocational skills that enhance their employability, self-reliance, and social integration.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide skill-based training (tailoring, computer literacy, crafts, electrical, carpentry, etc.) adapted to the abilities of differently-abled trainees.

- Assess the strengths, interests, and limitations of trainees to design individualized training plans.

- Modify teaching methods, tools, and materials to suit special needs learners (visual, hearing, intellectual, physical disabilities).

- Encourage the development of life skills and soft skills (communication, teamwork, time management).

- Ensure a safe, supportive,



and inclusive workshop/classroom setting.

- Maintain training records, progress reports, and provide regular feedback to trainees and parents/guardians.

- Coordinate with rehabilitation specialists, therapists, and employers for holistic development and placement support.

- Facilitate exposure visits, internships, and on-the-job training opportunities.

- Motivate trainees to build confidence and pursue independent living/employment.

Requirements

- Patience, empathy, and adaptability.

- Knowledge of disability-specific teaching strategies.

- Strong technical expertise in the trade/skill being taught.

- Effective communication and counseling skills.

- Ability to inspire confidence and independence in trainees.
