1. Patient Care

- Receive and assess patients before consultation, investigations, and procedures.
- Monitor vital signs and general health condition.
- Assist patients with pre- and post-operative care.
- Provide patient education regarding eye care, medications, and follow-up.

2. Ophthalmic Assistance

- Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and minor procedures.
- Prepare patients for ophthalmic investigations and surgeries.
- Administer prescribed eye drops, ointments, and medications.
- Maintain proper eye-dressing and assist with wound care.

3. OT & Surgical Support

- Prepare the OT, instruments, equipment, and consumables.
- Assist the surgical team during ophthalmic procedures.
- Follow strict aseptic and infection-control practices.
- Ensure proper sterilization and secure handling of surgical instruments.
- Monitor patients during recovery and hand over appropriately.

4. Emergency & Patient Monitoring

- Identify and respond to medical emergencies promptly.
- Monitor patients during procedures and recovery.
- Provide first aid and basic life-support assistance when required.




- Escalate abnormal findings or complications to the doctor immediately.

5. Documentation & Coordination

- Maintain accurate nursing notes, medication records, and patient documentation.
- Ensure proper patient identification and procedure verification.
- Coordinate with doctors, optometrists, technicians, pharmacy, and other departments.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.

6. Infection Control & Safety

- Follow hospital infection-control protocols and standard precautions.
- Ensure proper hand hygiene and use of PPE.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the nursing area.
- Report incidents, medication errors, and patient safety concerns promptly.

7. Patient Experience

- Communicate politely and professionally with patients and attendants.
- Guide patients regarding investigations, surgery preparation, discharge, and follow-up.
- Address patient queries and escalate grievances when required.
- Ensure a comfortable and positive patient experience.
