Role Overview

The Assistant Manager Plant HR will support the plant HR leadership in managing the overall HR function at the manufacturing facility.

The role focuses on industrial relations, statutory compliance, workforce planning, HR operations, employee engagement, and employee welfare management to ensure a productive and compliant work environment.

The position will work closely with the Plant Leadership Team to build a high-performance, compliant, and engaged workforce aligned with manufacturing objectives and production goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Industrial Relations & Employee Relations

- Maintain healthy industrial relations within the plant environment.
- Handle employee grievances and disciplinary cases.
- Ensure effective communication between management and employees.
- Implement structured grievance redressal mechanisms.
- Support employee relations initiatives to maintain a positive work culture.

2. Statutory Compliance & Labor Law Management

Ensure full compliance with all applicable labor laws including:

- Factories Act
- Industrial Disputes Act
- Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act
- Provident Fund (PF)
- ESIC Regulations
- Bonus Act
- Gratuity Act
- Tamil Nadu State Labour Regulations





Additional responsibilities include:

- Maintaining statutory registers and records.
- Coordinating with government authorities and inspectors.
- Supporting internal, external, and statutory audits.
- Ensuring audit-ready compliance documentation.

3. HR Operations & Workforce Management

- Manage recruitment and onboarding of plant employees.
- Support manpower planning aligned with production capacity.
- Manage attendance systems and shift planning.
- Oversee biometric attendance systems and ensure accurate employee attendance records.
- Ensure payroll input accuracy and HR data management.
- Maintain HRIS records and dashboards.
- Manage contract labor compliance and vendor coordination.
- Ensure proper workforce deployment across shifts.

4. Employee Welfare & Facility Management

- Oversee canteen management and food quality standards for employees.
- Coordinate with canteen vendors and ensure hygiene and compliance.
- Monitor employee welfare facilities in the plant.
- Address employee concerns related to workplace facilities.
- Support welfare initiatives that improve employee satisfaction.

5. Performance Management & Productivity

- Support implementation of performance management systems.
- Align employee KPIs with plant production goals.




- Monitor workforce productivity metrics.
- Track absenteeism, attrition, overtime cost, and workforce performance.
- Support productivity improvement initiatives.

6. Culture, Engagement & Employee Experience

- Support employee engagement and welfare initiatives.
- Promote a safety-first work culture within the plant.
- Conduct employee communication and awareness programs.
- Implement workforce retention and motivation programs.
- Encourage a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Experience Required

- 4-8 years of experience in HR within any Manufacturing / Automotive industries.
- Experience in plant HR operations and industrial relations.
- Exposure to contract labor management and compliance.
- Experience handling biometric attendance systems and employee welfare administration.
- Experience handling large workforce environments preferred.

Education Qualification

- Full-time MBA / PGDM in Human Resources from a recognized institution.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Experience managing plant workforce environments
- Exposure to Tamil Nadu/Gujarat manufacturing sector
- Preferably, immediate joiners required
