Purpose
- Manage, administer, and optimize the Atlassian Jira platform to support Agile delivery, project management, DevOps, and enterprise collaboration initiatives.
- Ensure Jira environments are secure, scalable, reliable, and aligned with organizational governance standards and business requirements.
- Provide administration, configuration, user support, workflow automation, reporting, and integration services for Jira and associated Atlassian tools.
- Enable project teams to effectively leverage Jira for project planning, tracking, release management, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and related Atlassian applications.
- Configure and manage projects, workflows, issue types, screens, permission schemes, notification schemes, and security controls.
- Design and optimize Jira workflows to support Agile, Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, and ITSM processes.
- Create and maintain custom fields, dashboards, filters, reports, and automation rules.
- Manage user provisioning, role assignments, group administration, and access controls.
- Support Jira integrations with Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, ServiceNow, and other enterprise platforms.
- Develop and maintain workflow automation using Jira Automation and scripting tools.
- Configure and maintain Jira Service Management projects, SLAs, queues, and service catalogs.
- Monitor platform performance and proactively resolve issues.
- Support Agile teams in sprint planning, backlog management, release tracking, and reporting.
- Implement governance standards and best practices across Jira environments.
- Support Jira upgrades, migrations, plugin evaluations, testing, and deployment activities.
- Develop documentation,
knowledge articles, and training materials.
- Conduct end-user training and provide ongoing support.
Technical Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5-8 years of experience in Jira Administration, Atlassian Administration, or related roles.
- Strong hands-on experience administering Jira Software and Jira Service Management.
- Experience configuring workflows, issue types, schemes, permissions, screens, custom fields, automation rules, dashboards, and reports.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, and ITSM methodologies.
- Knowledge of Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Atlassian Access.
- Experience integrating Jira with CI/CD, DevOps, testing, and enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, webhooks, and integration mechanisms.
- Experience with ScriptRunner, Groovy, or equivalent scripting tools is an added advantage.
- Understanding of user access management and security best practices.
- Experience supporting Cloud and/or Data Center Jira environments.
- Knowledge of reporting, dashboard creation, and project metrics analysis.
- Atlassian certifications will be an added advantage.
