SAP ABAP Developer Job Description

Role: SAP ABAP Developer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Developer responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting SAP applications. The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in ABAP development, debugging, performance optimization, and integration with SAP and non-SAP systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain SAP ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, enhancements, and forms.
- Work on Classical Reports, ALV Reports, BAPIs, RFCs, User Exits, Customer Exits, and BADIs.
- Develop and maintain OData services, APIs, and web services.
- Work on Adobe Forms / Smart Forms / SAPscript.
- Perform ABAP debugging, code analysis, and performance tuning.
- Develop and maintain DDIC objects including Tables, Structures, Views, Data Elements, and Domains.
- Work with Open SQL, Internal Tables, Modularization techniques, and Object-Oriented ABAP.
- Analyze functional requirements and prepare technical specifications.
- Collaborate with SAP functional consultants such as FI/CO, MM, SD, PP,



and WM/EWM.
- Perform unit testing, defect fixing, and production support.
- Follow SAP development standards, coding guidelines, and transport management processes.

Required Skills

- Robust hands-on experience in SAP ABAP.
- Excellent knowledge of ABAP Reports and ALV.
- Experience with BAPI, BADI, User Exits, Customer Exits, RFC, and Enhancements.
- Good knowledge of ABAP Objects / OO ABAP.
- Experience with Adobe Forms / Smart Forms.
- Strong knowledge of DDIC and Open SQL.
- Experience in debugging and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of OData / REST / SOAP interfaces is preferred.
- Exposure to SAP S/4HANA and CDS Views is an advantage.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
