Job Description

The individual is responsible for managing the organization’s external communications strategy which includes, public relations, social media, brand awareness, and presence at external events.

Responsibilities (Public Relations)

The responsibilities include working with internal stakeholders on messaging and with the PR agency to work on media opportunities, writing or editing press releases prior to publication, and helping the organization organize events such as conferences that involve their industry and the local community.

Coordinating all public relations activities
Develop a media relations plan including strategy, goals, budget, and tactics
Develop a media relations strategy,



seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast, and online media
Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate current contacts within business and industry media
Manage media inquiries and interview requests
Create content for press releases, byline articles, and keynote presentations
Monitor, analyze, and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis
Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising on an ongoing basis.
Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness
Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting the company and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
Respond to requests for information releases or press conferences from the media or designate a spokesperson or source of information.
