? We’re hiring: RF Hardware Design Engineer — GaN PA & Wideband RF Systems
CST Defence | New Delhi | ₹30–45L CTC | Full-Time
We build Software Defined Radios that go into Indian armed forces drones, vehicles, soldiers and helicopters. Army Design Bureau accredited. Field-assessed by multiple formations.
We’re now building our GaN Power Amplifier in-house —, on wideband COFDM — and we need the engineer who’s going to own it from schematic to validated hardware.
This is what the job actually is:
→ Design a two-stage wideband GaN MMIC PA from the ground up
→ EM simulation in ADS/AWR, Rogers 4-layer PCB layout, bench bring-up
→ Characterise it with our FHSS/COFDM waveform — EVM, spectral mask, hop timing
You’re the right person if:
✔ You’ve taped out or built a GaN PA that actually worked in the field
✔ You’re comfortable on a bench with a VNA and a spectrum analyser, not just in a simulator
✔ You know why ±1 dB flatness across 900 MHz is hard and how to fix it
✔ You want to see your hardware operate in an Army field trial, not sit in a lab report
You’re not the right person if:
✗ You need a large team around you to get a board designed
✗ You’ve only done system-level RF without getting into the matching network detail
✗ You’re looking for a defence PSU comfort zone — we move rapid
6–12 years experience. IIT/NIT/DIAT/SAMEER backgrounds welcome. Indian nationals only — security clearance required.
How to apply:
Send your CV + a paragraph on the most technically difficult RF hardware you’ve designed to
[email protected]
Subject: RF Hardware Engineer — [Your Name]
We’ll ask you to walk through a PA matching problem on a whiteboard. No trick questions. We just want to see how you think.
