Description:

The ServiceNow Platform Architect is a senior technical role responsible for the design, governance,
technical architecture and overall integrity of the enterprise ServiceNow platform. This role
ensures all solutions—particularly those built on ITSM, custom applications (like DMS), and the
Service Portal—are scalable, maintainable, secure, and align with core ServiceNow best practices.
The Architect serves as the highest technical authority and provides guidance to development
teams and business stakeholders.

Your mission / role:

• Define and own the technical solution architecture for current and existing capabilities across the
platform, enforcing the use of the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
• Serve as the final technical reviewer for all major development efforts (e.g., complex scripting,
integrations, application development) to ensure adherence to architectural standards,
performance requirements, and scalability.
• Drive the adoption of "configuration over customization" principles, ensuring solutions are
future-proof and upgrade-safe.
• Contribute to the platform roadmap by advising on necessary technical shifts, new feature
adoption, and managing the long-term technical debt of the instance.
• Provide deep expertise in the configuration, relationship, and workflow design for core ITSM
modules: Incident, Problem, Change, Request Fulfillment, Service Catalog, and
Knowledge Management.
• Oversee the architecture and population strategy for the Configuration Management
Database (CMDB), ensuring data integrity and alignment with ITSM processes.
• Architect and govern all platform integrations. This includes defining security, authentication
(e.g., OAuth, basic auth), data flow, error handling, and selecting the appropriate tools




(IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP Web Services, MID Server) for external systems
connectivity.
• Lead the technical design for the Service Portal ensuring solutions provide an optimal,
modern, and accessible user experience. Establish widget development standards, themes,
and portal page structures.

Your profile:

Required Skills & Qualifications

• ServiceNow Platform: Expert-level knowledge of the core platform architecture and data
model, including CSDM. Proven experience (10+ years)
• Scripting Proficiency: Expert command of JavaScript and the Glide API for both server-
side and client-side development.
• Integration Specialist: Extensive experience architecting and implementing secure and
reliable integrations using REST/SOAP and IntegrationHub.
• Service Portal: Proven architecture and development experience with the Service Portal
(Widgets, Themes, SCSS, AngularJS).
• Reporting: Deep experience designing data models for reporting and dashboards.
• Certifications: Must hold the ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
(CSA). Certified Application Developer (CAD) and relevant Certified Implementation
Specialist (CIS) certifications (e.g., ITSM) are highly preferred.
