Job Summary
We are seeking a responsible, approachable, and experienced Hostel Warden to manage the day-to-day operations of our university hostel. The successful candidate will ensure student safety and welfare, maintain discipline, supervise hostel services, and create a supportive residential environment.
The position requires the ability to handle student concerns sensitively, coordinate with various departments, and respond promptly to emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily hostel operations and ensure a protected, clean, and comfortable environment.
Maintain discipline and ensure compliance with hostel and university regulations.
Supervise room allotment, student attendance, leave requests, visitors, and hostel records.
Conduct regular inspections of student rooms, common areas, dining facilities, and hostel premises.
Address student concerns, complaints, and welfare-related matters.
Coordinate with parents, faculty members, counsellors, security personnel,



and university authorities when required.
Respond promptly to medical, safety, security, and other emergencies.
Monitor housekeeping, maintenance, catering, sanitation, and security services.
Prevent and report ragging, harassment, substance abuse, violence, and other misconduct.
Organise hostel meetings, orientation sessions, and student engagement activities.
Maintain records of incidents, disciplinary matters, hostel assets, and maintenance requirements.
Prepare and submit periodic hostel administration reports.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; a postgraduate qualification is preferred.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in hostel administration, student affairs, residential schools, universities, defence services, or similar environments.
Prior experience in an educational institution is preferred.
Basic proficiency in MS Office and digital record keeping.
